Matisse's "Purple Robe" is replicated by hand-tooling and hand-painting on leather. The book cover is 6 1\/4" x 9" and holds 5" x 8" books. The snap closure keeps the cover closed and inside two leather sleeves hold the book in place.

The paint is durable acrylic with a protective sheen coating. It can be wiped off with a damp cloth.
