It Takes a Village is a design adapted from cloth appliques made in India. I love the bright colors and the variety.

The checkbook cover measures 3 3/4" x 7" closed. The design is drawn on leather, hand-tooled, and painted with acrylic paint. The interior is a suede lining with two leather pockets that hold a checkbook and register. All pieces were hand cut, not made from a kit. (The kits come with a standard dark brown interior, so this checkbook is more colorful!)

It is hand-stitched with black waxed thread and finished with a coating of protective sheen.
