The Matisse replica of Madame Matisse in a red headress is hand-tooled and painted on leather with durable acrylic paint. The back is painted grey.

The checkbook cover measures 3 3/4" x 7" closed. The inside is all leather with a pocket to slide in the check book and two upper pockets for a check register or other papers or ID.

It is hand-stitched with black waxed thread and finished with a coating of protective sheen.
